National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is an independent government agency. This agency implements packaged support services to Australians with specific temporary or permanent disability through independent registered service providers. This agency also provides assistance to those who provide support services to such disabled people. This might include family members who look after their physically/ mentally challenged members or paid carers. NDIA looks after NDIS – which is a national scheme for people with disability to deliver its support services. NDIA assists to empower people with mental and physical disability to become confident citizens. It also provides clear and transparent policy to independent disability service providers so that they can continue growing their business to support individuals in need. They provide information, resources and networking facilities to the participants. Various resources, service plans, activity guidelines can be obtained by registered service providers. NDIA operates its activities through NDIS which is funded by Government and independent Australian donors. Their goal is to raise community awareness to include people with disability to mainstream services, community and civic events and government initiatives.
